Zuhair Murad

I have always enjoyed simplicity in many ways including the clothing that I wear however this dress has definitely caught my attention! This Zuhair Murad dress is exactly what I will be wearing to my birthday party this year because it is just as fabulous as my birthday feels :)

Simple yet elegant; what else could anyone ask for?

Couture Dreams.

I'm going to keep this one short and sweet.. some more couture dreams to get you through your day. Thank you, Elie Saab.

Rockridge

Like I mentioned earlier this month, I am searching for a new home.. a modest and comfortable cozy place to lay my head at night. However, living in Vancouver.. this is proving to be a difficult task. I come across these magnificent homes which are giving me great ideas for the future (a financially sound-er future) and I just can't help but share.

Homes like these make it difficult for me to concentrate on what I need and can get in my price range.. "hmm, yes but this one bedroom apartment doesn't nearly compare to the eight bedroom ten bathroom estate I saw in West Vancouver".. oh boy.

Who needs modesty when you have a home like this!?! Boasting just over 17,000 square feet at a stunning (and I mean sticker shock) $9 mill.  This house is deeeeeelicious!

..one day perhaps.. but a girl can dream.

Elie Saab

With the 2012 couture shows making headlines it's hard to miss some of the biggest and brightest this year. Elie Saab just so happens to be one of these magnificent designers who turn their outrageous and sometimes slightly off balance ideas in to works of art.

These two gowns are just a few of the many I enjoyed from the Elie Saab show. I look forward to what else in store in the future with Elie Saab. These dresses are aaaaahhhhhh-mazing!

What's the rush?

There is a bit of an issue that I want to address which had taken over my brain for the last few weeks. I think as women sometimes we find ourselves getting caught up in issues like needing to be in a relationship or feeling pressure to get married or meet the "one". We drive ourselves mad over it and we sometime destroy the good relationships that we already have in our lives over it.

I think that young women need to concentrate on building their own lives before they are truly able to give them selves to another person. You need to know where you stand as a person and if the other person truly cares enough for you.. they will wait. As cheesy and cliche as that sounds.. its true.

I found myself getting worked up about a situation which barely even existed this past weekend and it wasn't until a friend told me that I am "wasting my youth" on these sorts of non-existent problems. She told me that the life I build is what will stay with me forever where as my youth won't. I should enjoy my youth while it lasts rather than wasting it right now on situations and people that are just causing me stress.

Different, opinionated.. disagreeable for some.. I'm sure. But as I sit here reorganizing my thoughts and getting myself back in to a place where I can function.. I feel like she is right.

From someone who is a serial dater.. take your time and enjoy your youth.. because I am just learning how to :)

P.S. I figured for such a serious topic.. we might as well enjoy some Chanel Haute Couture in addition to my favorite man in the world; Karl Lagerfeld (of course).

Laziest sort of ambition

Earlier at work I read an article in the New York Times that claimed that the author was the 'laziest ambition person they knew' and that they are never 'busy'. I think that this is really relevant. Why? Because that is the way life should be.. in all honesty we are pumping ourselves full of voluntary work obligations and extra activities which are just tiring us.. not enriching our lives. We pump our kids full of activities too.. from piano to hockey to extra tutorials for school. Our lives have become so structured that its almost impossible to have fun without thinking about the inevitable.. WORK!

Lets be realistic, it is possible to be the 'laziest ambitious person' and still get somewhere in life. Just because you devote your life to a career does not mean that you cannot have fun while doing it and it does not mean that you have to work every waking moment of the day.

New life plan: be the laziest ambitious person I know... while having the time of my life..  could things get any better?

DVF | Work Wear

What better to do on a slow Wednesday than shop online? I always find it ridiculously difficult to find appropriate clothing for work that I can still wear with pride. I don't always want to be wearing black and white or anything frumpy and ill-fitted. Thanks to Diane Von Furstenberg.. I can have all of the fabulous work wear in the world for a pretty penny (:
